*We enjoyed a wonderful afternoon of Valentine Activities. When you login to your child's Seesaw account, you can witness why our "Hidden pictures" are valuable to English language learners. Each week we hunt in pictures for hidden pictures within. The activity is very collaborative as the children help each other find difficult puzzle pieces. Children also have the chance to share with the whole group - with words - where a picture is hidden. This requires knowledge of positional words such as "next to", and "under", "beside", and "near". You child is eager to hunt and share!
*Chinese New Year began on Friday, February 16. They children learned of the lunar calendar.
-- You can ask why the Chinese people like the color RED?
-- What to Chinese noodles represent?
-- What comes in a red envelope?
-- What animal is the symbol of your child's Chinese year?
-- Mrs. W. was born in the year of the Dog. An we have just begun the year of the DOG!
*We are off school on Monday, February 19th to ceelbrate Presidents Day. Two of our most famous Presidents, George Washington and Abraham Lincoln were born in the month of February. We'll talk more about the job of president of the United States this week.
*Our Big Buddies returned to play a guessing game and read with us. We love Fridays!
