*SIGHT WORDS: is, a *POEM: ( a great way to develop speaking and reading fluency) A Fall of Colors I like sunshine. I like trees. I like dancing in the breeze. I turn orange. I turn brown. I go sailing to the ground. I am crispy. I can crunch. I get raked up in a bunch. *TECHNOLOGY IN THE CLASSROOM: "Imagine Learning" Every other day your child goes on a website called "Imagine Learning" It targets EL instruction where your child needs support in areas of literacy. "SeeSaw" Your child also has a "SeeSaw Account" for our EL class. SeeSaw is an online portfolio that lets you hear and see what your child is doing at school. We are posting to our journal almost every week. I will share the information how to view your child's work at conferences in 3 weeks Our Focus was Apples!
* POEM: APPLES APPLES Apples, apples, One, two, three. Apples for you, Apples for me. Apples BIG, Apples small. Apple trees tiny, Apple trees TALL. Apples sour, apples sweet Apples, apples are nice to eat! *We made a class graph showing our favorite color of apple. Between the choices of Red, Yellow or Green, RED WAS THE OUTSTANDING WINNER! *Each day, along with Calendar activities, we answer a QUESTION OF THE DAY: Here are 2 from last week: 1. Name a food that is yellow (corn, banana, pineapple, apple, etc) 2. A dog is a type of ________________( pet, animal, animal that barks) *JOLLY PHONICS: Rr, Mm, Dd *SIGHT WORDS: see, me Monday - We gather to tell our friends about our weekend. Then we go to the tables to draw a picture and dictate our story. We are using our jolly phonics to sound out words to spell them.
Tuesday - We talk about the weather. Children draw a picture and write a weather report. Wednesday - Dot-to-Dot pictures encourage your child to count or sing the A,B,C's Thursday - Hidden Picture Hunt - Eager children give clues and share the hidden pictures that they've found. Friday; Teamwork Friday - Children work with a partner to draw a theme-based object. When we gather as a whole group, partners tell the others about their design. |
