Today we saw a detailed drawing with a sad short sentence describing it:
The girl painted.
The children helped Mrs. Welzenbach add details to make the sentence more interesting. It also described the picture more accurately.
"The girl painted a picture of a tree in the Art Room."
then
"The girl painted a picture of a tree in the Art Room when she was holding cotton candy."
After much discussion, (cotton candy?,flowers?, or ice cream?) here's what we came up with:
The happy girl in the dress with pink spots paints a picture of a huge tree in the Art Room when she's eating cotton candy.
Now THAT paints a picture with words!
