All week we are celebrating the fun books and stories written by Dr. Seuss. He was a cartoonist, ad man and children's book author. Many children, including Mrs. Welzenbach, learned to love reading by reading The Cat in the Hat, The Cat in the Hat Comes Back, and Green Eggs and Ham with and to her dad.
The EL class is rhyming many words that are both real and SILLY.
Today we read, There's a Wocket in My Pocket. by Dr. Seuss.
In the story the boy has many different imaginary creatures that live in his house.
Our class is writing its own version using words from our classroom.
* On Thursday, we roll into a new month -- March. The children will bring home their March calendar. Please talk about each number date when it comes up -- If you're at 5, have your child count 5 things in your house. He /she can also practice making a 5 by tracing over the number. Do this every day this month and your child will get to review all the numbers from 1 through 31 this month. It's great practice!
